In 'The Woods', I'm by a lake to inspect a memorial to two young men who had drowned a week earlier, fresh life is in abundance at the edge of the water. I see ripples and expecting to see fish I approach cautiously, but as I reach the bank I see frogs instead mating frantically, fighting each other, coiled, two, three, four, whilst the sound of small arms fire and heavy munitions resonate in the distance across the shallow valleys of an M.O.D. training ground.
'The Streets' is a montage of the urban as I cycle around, passing into and out of a supermarket, traffic, 'peds, cash machines ...
And 'The Piano' is an improvisation on a sunny early April afternoon performed upon an old stand up that has its corner here in the apartment, an old friend shipped over from New Zealand.
